The following steps are for a non-sworn position with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. Please note that continuing with each step of the process is contingent upon successfully completing the previous step.

- Application Review
Your application will be reviewed to ensure minimum qualifications are met and you will be notified of your application status. If you have met all of the required qualifications your application will be accepted and moved to the next step in the recruitment process.
- Testing Process
You have made it to the next step in the recruitment process!
All qualified applicants will have been invited to the testing process. (If applicable)
- Eligible List Established
Candidates who have successfully passed the testing process, if applicable, will be placed on the Eligible list.
- Interview
This is your time to shine! Candidates will be interviewed based on their ranking on the Eligible list.
- Job offer
Congratulations! You have been offered the job!
A hiring decision has been made, and a job offer will be sent.
- Pre-employment Requirements
Now you start the pre-employment steps to move you to the title of TMFPD EMPLOYEE!! The District requirements may include, but are not limited to:
- Onboarding sent via NEOGOV for you to complete your hiring documentation
- Background Check (type is dependent on position)
- Medical Exam (if applicable)
- Driving History
- First day!
